When we first walked through the front door of this home, we knew it was something special.
Built in 1911, Breakaway Beach House has been part of Humarock’s history for more than a century. Remarkably, in all that time it has only been owned by two families. That kind of history is almost unheard of today, and we immediately felt a responsibility to preserve everything that makes this home unique.
Rather than replace its character, we chose to restore it.
Over the course of an extensive renovation, every decision was made with one goal in mind: honor the home’s history while creating a place that families would love for generations to come. The timeless layout, original charm, and cozy gathering spaces remain, while the home now offers the modern comforts, technology, and amenities expected from a luxury coastal getaway.
As lifelong South Shore residents, we’ve always loved everything that makes Humarock special. The quiet beaches, the small-town feel, the local restaurants, the South River, and the incredible sense of community are unlike anywhere else in New England. We wanted to create a place where others could experience that same feeling.
Whether you’re watching the sunrise over the Atlantic, paddling the South River, walking to grab coffee, or gathering around the dinner table after a day at the beach, our hope is that your family creates memories here that last a lifetime.
Thank you for allowing us to share this extraordinary home with you. We hope you’ll love Breakaway Beach House as much as we do.
